James Carson Jamison one of William Walker’s soldier’s who served in his army. He left from California for Nicaragua in December of 1855 after hearing of Walker’s battles there. His main motivation was the promise of adventure and riches from new lands. Jamison’s recounting ends with describing Walker’s execution in a mournful tone to the reader.
