Pictured here is an advertisement for a dramatic theater production of William Walker’s invasion and taking power of Nicaragua at Purdy’s National Theatre (also known as the Chatham Theatre) in New York City. S.B. Wilkins played Walker himself, or indicated here as “General Walker, the hope of Freedom.”
The advertisement for the production was put out June of 1856, which at the time Walker had just started his presidency of Nicaragua only days prior.
